In the beginning of 2015 Trivector was approached by Climate-KIC Nordic and invited to become affiliate partner to Climate-KIC Nordic in their aim to broaden their field of work to include also transport. We were suggested by Lund University (then to become, now, partner) and City of Copenhagen (partner) to be invited when Climate-KIC was looking for Small medium-sized Enterprise in transport and ways of broadening their contacts on these issues with Swedish cities.
Working to address the challenge of climate change
Climate-KIC is Europe’s largest public-private innovation partnership, working together to address the challenge of climate change. Climate-KIC Nordic today work on four major themes: Urban Transitions, Sustainable Land Use, Sustainable Production Systems and Decision Metrics & Finance.
- We find the themes, especially the Urban transition challenge, as framed in Climate-KIC fully in line with our overall mission and ambitions. Based on our original business idea to “speed up the process from research to practical use” means we always are seeking new ways of educating ourselves as well as finding new ways of increasing the sustainability impact of our work. That is the heart of our interest in becoming an affiliate partner to Climate-KIC, says Lena Smidfelt Rosqvist, head of research at Trivector Traffic.
Opportunity for networking
- We see an opportunity for networking, finding new ways to challenge the ways the transport sector operates as well as to enhance our capacity to influence the sector’s sustainability ambitions not the least regarding climate change. We are also convinced that Climate-KIC can benefit from our experience in bridging the gap between research and practice as well as our forward leaning approach to new developments, says Christer Ljungberg, CEO of Trivector.
From our first meetings with Climate-KIC we will start with attempts to find collaboration on our project for transport as a service (EC2B) and also TravelVU might be of interest to bring into Climate-KIC.
